This makes patterns, kinda. There will never be a seam because instead of cropping a certain area, it records the coordinates of the circles within that area and then redraws the circles across the whole screen.

FINALLY. I went from having never heard of Processing (about a year ago), to barely understanding the tiniest bit of Processing (a month ago!), to doing a lot of small stupid things and little exercises in Dan Shiffman's books/videos, to finally being able to look at this and figure out that I was stuck simply because I was using the wrong coordinate system!!!!!! (On one hand, this is a huge relief and no longer a block that I'm stuck behind; on the other hand, I'm smacking myself for being thwarted by something so trivial.)
SECOND ANNOUNCEMENT: I HAVE ROTATED A LINE. I will now submit this for approval. Updates: approval was had, but I have to clean up my code a lot.
THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT: I HAVE ROTATED A POTATO. I will now submit this for approval. It appears that this has trouble loading. Here is a slightly choppier gif that sums it up.
